I CAME EMPTY

What would you do if you lost all your possessions?

They all worth not a dime,

In comparison with my life,

Why must I die for a loss,

I die to get nothing,

I live to gain in uncountable folds.

What of if my possessions lost me,

To the dark and lonely grave,

Where it will be lifeless of me and

the casket bought by others,

What will my possessions do?

You answer is as good as mine,

My possessions will change

ownership.

We labour too much for the

ephemerals,

As we placed our lives at

the edge of an endless pit,

Just because of materials that

have no permanent values

I have heard of men ending it all

because they lost treasures,

Double tragedy for the families

left behind,

Why is suicide your only option

for what you lost?

better reason over and again,

that you can still get in double

while you are still alive,

A dead man has no hope of

recovery.

The life of Job is the portrait

before by eyes

He practically lost everything,

He never cursed God for his

predicaments,

He hoped in a hopeless estate,

and the outcome was a bumper

harvest.

Horacio Spafford I read about

in years back,

Eighteenth century American

lawyer he was,

He lost both properties and

children almost the same time,

But still went on the write a

powerful resounding poem,

follow me as I reiterate his poem,

“when peace like a river attended

my way,

when sorrows like sea billows roll,

whatever my lot,

Thou has taught me to say,

it is well, it is well…..

with my soul………”.

History told us how posterity

Smiled at Spafford,

God helped him and his wife,

and their later end was glorious

than their earlier marital life.

What is it that you have lost,

With positive mindset you can

gain it all back.

Depression cannot help us,

Ending it all will complicate

our matters,

Let’s take a deep breath,

and re-strategize,

we will gain it all again.

  1. Depending on what I lost, like any normal person I would be worried and upset maybe due to not being prepared enough. if it’s a sudden change like a big storm well I can only do my best to get myself and others to safety not having enough time perhaps. That’s why it’s important to think and have a bag prepared with clothes and your documents on a weatherproof cover.

  2. If I were to lose all my possessions, I trust in God to guide me through this difficult time. I would start by assessing the situation calmly and placing my faith in His plan. Prioritizing my basic needs such as finding shelter, food, and clothing, I would also seek support from friends and family. I believe that with God’s help, I can overcome any challenge and rebuild my life, knowing that material possessions are temporary, and my faith and relationships are what truly matter.
