LEADERSHIP

Do you see yourself as a leader?

A position coveted by two-thirds of the global populace,

So attractive in some quarters that men kill men to attain it,

Uncountable compromises of sedition, blackmail are put forward,

To pull down any possible opponent to the throne of leadership,

Sane minds that possess the attributes to lead are scared off the line,

Only wolves in sheep clothes occupy our thrones,

Little wander our world of leadership is tagged with despicable acts,

That no mouth can tell and no mind can comprehend.

Africa is the worst case scenario,

Where leadership positions are occupied by men of questionable characters,

Yet the incorrigible followers sing hosanna after them,

Leaders without foresights,

Leaders without human heart,

Leaders without clue to progressive adventurism on the internal scale,

Leaders that are stinkingly rich in gold but the street of their followers stinks like shithole.

Leaders of this dispensation have long neglected their calling if they were really called to it.

It is for sane minds,

It is for selfless men,

It is for forerunners,

It is for risk bearers,

It is for servanthood,

It is for the meek and the lowly,

It is for the committed,

It is for the honest,

Not for every Tom, Dick and Harry for self projection and aggrandisement,

Our world needs good and conscientious leaders in all human spheres.

I consider the position of leadership sacred,

No matter how small it appears,

To preside over other people action and activities, is as good as presiding over their fates,

I don’t see myself as a leader,

I only consider myself as a learning servant of events and time,

Whose leadership era is determined

By the ability to appropriate the lessons of life.

Our world needs genuine leaders,

Are you one of them?

  1. Yeah, well said. Throughout human history up till today, many leaders all over the world have been consumed by their greed for profits and power. And it’s quite unfortunate that the masses seemingly keep on forgetting history and keep falling for the rhetoric and propaganda spread by these leaders.

    1. You know, “power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely”
This popular saying demystifies the greed and the licentiousness that are natural in the corridors of power. That’s the reason why many leaders easily forget that they were once common men on the street before fate smiles on them. It can only take a man governed by love and compassion to act right and act well on the throne of leadership.
Thanks so much for your comment.
      It is indeed an addendum.
