Back in history I saw the moon,
One contact I thought for a life time,
But no I was wrong,
It might be for my unconscious heart.
Little was I when I bid the placenta goodbye,
It is a new world altogether I perceived,
Crying at the top of my tiny innocent voice,
Then I saw that moon, blinking welcome,
The environment was chilly and cringy,
Different from the warm womb I left,
Not all I saw appears so friendly,
But that moon still smiles while saying welcome,
Time rolling over time,
As age counts on with no pulse,
The moon I saw never gets old or tied,
It appears beautiful each season till now,
At every 9/15 it appears,
To reaffirms it’s friendly gesture from the onset,
With peace, love and harmony it’s beams that light,
To blaze it’s brightness on my dark path,
Tomorrow is another 9/15,
As I awaits a renewed moon of hope and vigor,
In ecstacy my heart stands in awe,
As the moon prepares to usher me into it’s newness,
Haven crossed an old Rubicon of 365,
In few hours I shall kiss that new moon,
To the sweetest womb that brought me here,
I say thank you,
How I wish you will still be here to welcome that never aged moon,
Your passage is indelible in my heart,
The vacuum you left still remains as I welcome the new moon.
To the world around I throw an invisible party,
In the dark hour after the sun has gone to rest,
As the moon appears on stage as an expected guest,
As the celebrant, I will walk down the alley,
In my agbada with kembe as a typical Yoruba man,
From the ranges where sun blast and moon smiles,
The stage will be set with sumptuous meal though not tangible,
The invisible meal and drinks that feeds the emotion,
As the glass cups filled with wine of love kisses in cheers,
And our belly filled with peace, joy and happiness,
My new season is declared open,
By the dot of the clock when the tick kisses 9/15.
I will see the new moon by 9/15.
I love your words
