What TV shows did you watch as a kid?
Before the horrific fantasy display on the modern TV shows, programs specially meant for kids were full of love and not hatred, they were full of peace and not violence, they were full of morals and not decadence of nudity, they were full of indices of self-esteem, self-reliance and love for humanity, not self-delusion, self-centeredness or self-destruction.
Tales by moon light was my childhood TV show, tales were full of moral lessons for us to build on as children in those days. Though characters were portrayed by animated objects, but the tales were geared towards inculcating sense of belonging, honestly, sincerity, hospitality, love, communal harmony, meekness, temperance, charity and good neighborliness in us as children in those good old days.
Tom and Jerry was another good TV shows I appreciated as a growing child in age gone bye. Though comical in structure and in content, it was full of morals that encompass resilience, doggedness, perseverance and good neighborliness. The animated characters were full of humor, love and compassion.
Now that many of us are parents, it must be our conscientious concern to carefully select moral based TV show as well as complete educative TV shows for our wards to watch during their pass time. The need to carefully sieve what they watch is not far fetched, series of inhumane, incorrigible and negative indoctrinating shows have perverted our contemporary TV industry, what we feed our minds with, is what we exhibit as humans, for children, we must be very careful of what we feed their innocent minds with. Cases of homicide, suicide, genocide, robbery, nudity, racial attack and other forms of negative behaviors are very rampant nowadays, studies have shown that more than 60% of these cases, were as a result of wrong environmental indoctrination which has bad influence on the younger generation. Unfriendly fantasies projected by these morally decayed TV shows are having serious antisocial effects on our young people and on the society at large. Parents, guardians, school administrators, teachers as well as the policymakers must yield to the clarion calls against moral decadence in our global community and we must do the needful to preserve our children and to protect humanity for the generation yet unborn.
I miss Tales by Moonlight and Family Circle

I agree with you; shows back then were too good content-wise, and there were learnings. The Tom and Jerry show I grew up watching was such fun, and even if you see it today, it’s still entertaining.
